Family and Child Services of Washington, D.C., Inc. (F&CS) is a venerable non-government, not-for-profit organization that is accredited by the Council on Accreditation Services for Families and Children, Inc. and the American Camping Association. It is one of the founders of two nationally recognized organizations that advocates for the rights of families and children. F&CS is also a member of such prestigious organizations as the Child Welfare League of America and the Consortium of Child Welfare. F&CS is also approved as a free-standing mental health clinic by the District of Columbia.
F&CS was founded in 1882 and has been rooted in the Washington, D.C. community for over 120 years. We are the oldest, nationally accredited social services organization that continues to provide assistance to over 13,000 residents of the District of Columbia. Our services include adoptions, foster care, childcare, youth development, mental health care, domestic violence counseling, and a wide array of services for older Americans. Our most recognized programs are Camp Moss Hollow, Model Cities Senior Wellness Center, Columbia Senior Center, the Bright Futures Teen Mothers Program, DC Adoption Resource Center, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and Senior Works (R.S.V.P.).
